Famous Polish Personalities in Heidelberg
Numerous Polish intellectuals and artists have contributed to the mystique of Heidelberg. In the revolutionary movement of 1848/49, Polish intellectuals joined the struggle for a democracy that was to be achieved only in the next century. Out of gratitude to his medical doctor, Frédéric Chopin gave a concert in the baroque mansion that is today’s Kurpfälzisches Museum.
